The concert on August 2nd will headline IBMA’s female vocalist of the year Dale Ann Bradley. Also performing musically on the show will be Song of the Mountains host Tim White with his band. Scheduled to perform is Country Saloon, a band from Russia along with the Circuit Riders and the Snyder Family from North Carolina.
Kentucky Bluegrass/Americana artist Dale Ann Bradley, who has released albums both as a solo artist and with the New Coon Creek Girls, is known for her distinctive, gentle vocal phrasing and covers of popular (yet non-genre-related) songs by artists such as U2, Gordon Lightfoot, Jim Croce, and Stealer's Wheel.
Tim White who hosts the Song of the Mountains series at live concerts and on PBS will perform with his band “Tim White and Friends”. Tim plays banjo and guitar and sings. He has assembled a stellar group of musicians from Virginia and Tennessee to perform at this concert. As usual his show will consist of straight ahead bluegrass music laced with comedy and humor.
“Country Saloon” is a Russian Bluegrass band from Nizhny Novgorod founded in 1979. The band plays a hard drive Bluegrass style influenced by Newgrass Revival. Today most of their material is originally composed by the leader of the band Michael Dushin (banjo). They took part at numerous bluegrass and country events in Russia and abroard. In 2006 and 2007 they took 2nd place at the Europe Bluegrass Festivals that were held in La Roche sur Foron (France).
When Bud and Laine Snyder started their young kids in classical music lessons, they didn't expect to find them on stage other than a recital here and there. Now music is a big part of life for this North Carolina family as Samantha, age nine, and Zeb, age thirteen, have excelled in their individual instruments and the art of entertaining. As the two youngsters began to perform more often as a duo, their music interest turned toward Bluegrass. While Samantha plays fiddle and Zeb the guitar, there seemed to be something missing. So, Dad was surprised by an upright bass on his birthday and it was only a matter of time before Bud would join them on stage. The Snyder's show includes instrumentals as well as vocal numbers by Samantha and Zeb, with Mom, Laine, joining in occasionally to add three part harmony.
Established in 2005, The Circuit Riders play traditional bluegrass music with a contemporary edge. Although they are a new combination, the individual members of this band are bluegrass veterans. Award - winning songwriter Greg Luck, Greg Corbett, Darin Aldridge, Jaret Carter and Billy Gee. Lots of great picking and harmony with this great band!
