PBS Taping in Marion on September 6th features Top Bluegrass and Old Time Artists
Song of the Mountains is taping another fine concert at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion, Virginia for national distribution to PBS on Saturday, September 6th at 7:00 pm. “This year we will be offering 22 to 24 new episodes of our concert series to all 190 PBS affiliates across America”, states Tim White the executive coordinator for the show. “We are in our fourth season now and we are excited to be doubling our episode count this year.” The first three Song of the Mountains seasons offered 12 episodes per year.
The concert on September 6th will include the James King Band, the Larry Stephenson Band, Big Country Bluegrass, Donna Hughes and the Zephyr Lightning Bolts. All of these groups are well known and nationally touring artists in the bluegrass world with the exception of the Zephyr Lightning Bolts who are an award winning old time music band.
Song of the Mountains is taped before a live audience using a four camera shoot. The Lincoln Theatre seats 485 people and the public is invited to take part in this extraordinary event each month in Marion, Virginia.
